Tuna-Hultsfred-Storebro
Time 2-3 hours, about 60 km.
Start the trip by visiting Gästgivarhagen, one of the largest grave-fields in Sweden. Drive out of Vimmerby towards Tuna. After a few kilometres you will come to Lake Solnen where you can go for a swim.
There is a narrow gauge railway at Tuna. Check the departure times, you might care to take a round trip to Tuna and back. Tuna is associated primarily with the Hammarskjöld family that still happens to be living on their farm in Tuna.
Continue towards Vena and from there towards Hultsfred. Visböle is an undivided village between Vena and Hultsfred and will give you an idea as to what 18th century peasant life and the countryside they lived and worked in looked like.
When you get to the Rock metropolis Hultsfred you will discover Hultsfred's Castle -the country's most famous training and rehearsal area! This is where Moberg's Rasken was rehearsed and this is also where Emil from Lönneberga lived it up. Drive along Östra Långgatan, park by Knektagården's service accommodation.
Drive northwards on Road 34. In Storebro you can stop to see Visans Skepp, it is signposted from the town. Food and drink available for sale at Fredensborgs Herrgård and at the Inn. You could also go for a swim at the lake.
Road 34 will take you back to Vimmerby.
