Try canoeing on the Stångå, a river that runs through Vimmerby in a southerly direction towards Storebro, where it turns and continues to the north through the lakes Krön and Juttern. The route is very popular.

You can rent a canoe at Kröngården or Pippi's Hotel. Bring a tent and spend the night in one of the picnic and resting areas along the river. The picnic areas have toilets and refuse containers. Along the canoeing routes there are several sights well worth visiting.

At the Tourist Office you can get brochures with detailed descriptions of sleeping facilities, canoeing routes and sights.

Hej.
Jag skulle bara vilja meddela att när jag och minfamilj var ute och paddlade från Ydre till Pelarne i somras så hade en hel del träd ramlat över Stångån. Svårframkomligt är bara förnamnet. Nästintill omöjligt att ta sig fram vid vissa partier, synd på en så fin sträcka. Synd att ingen röjer, då detta är en sträcka som används av många turister både tyskar, holländare och danskar. Vi har sommarhus i området och vill kunna utnyttja sträckan sommartid, men det blir tyvärr en besvikelse när det ser ut som det gör. Plus att turisterna återvänder inte heller om det inte blir någon bättring.
