Travel to Vimmerby
There are many ways to get to Vimmerby.
By car
Those who are coming from Denmark/Germany may like to use the Öresund Bridge and then travel via Höör, Osby, Växjö, Virserum and Målilla. An alternative is to take the ferry from Helsingör across to Helsingborg and then drive via Ljungby, Växjö, Virserum and Målilla.
The most common way of getting to Vimmerby is by car. Vimmerby is at an intersectional point between the trunk roads 33 and 34. The best route to take from Stockholm is to travel along the E4 to Linköping and then travel south on trunk road number 34.
From Gothenburg it's a straight route via Jönköping.
If you are coming from Malmö, a good choice would be to travel via Osby, Växjö, Virserum and Målilla.
For our guests who will be coming from Oslo, we recommend that you travel via Svinesund, Trollhättan, Falköping and Jönköping.

By train

There are daily connections with both Linköping (connecting to Stockholm) and Kalmar. During the period between 12th June and 14th August, most trains stop at Astrid Lindgren's World's station. Astrid Lindgren's World is situated in Vimmerby, walking distance from the travel centre (about 25 minutes) and there are several accommodation alternatives available.
By bus

If you visit Vimmerby at the weekend, there are several weekend buses. Contact either your travel agent or Nilsbuss resetjänst (travel services) in Vimmerby.
By air
You can fly from many destinations in Europe to airports not far away from Vimmerby. Closest are, Kalmar airport, Växjö Airport, Linköping airport, Nyköping airport.
